Film Archive

My grandmother was notorious for taking bad photos. Heads were cut off, fingers in front of the lens, you name it. She was also known for being the one who collect all of the photos of our family. She passed away in July of 2021, and we had to sort through the archive of family photos and memories that she had collected. This inspired me to start my own archive using the camera she gave me that belonged to my grandfather. I used these images as a grieving process by reflecting on the archive that she created while starting my own emulating her style of photography. These images are not meant to be technically good, or even in focus, images because this is how she would've done it whether she meant to or not. I continue to capture moments that I want to remember and save for my archive.
